11/4/09 - Local Opportunity to Hear AARP Leadership Discuss Next Steps for Health Care Reform

Senior AARP leaders will host a video conference media briefing Thursday, November 5 to discuss health care reform legislation and next steps for the group's grassroots, advertising and advocacy effort. With Congressional votes on a health care reform package expected as early as this week, Americans age 50-plus have much at stake in the health care debate. AARP executives will discuss the state-of-play on critical issues including closing the Medicare prescription drug "doughnut hole" and cracking down on health insurance companies' discrimination against older Americans.

The event will be broadcast live from AARP's Washington headquarters to the Association's Philadelphia office. Members of the media will have the opportunity to ask questions via video conference.
