Who is IH Systems?
Intelligent Hospital Systems (IH Systems) is a medical device company focused on the design and development of automated solutions for the hospital environment.
What does IH Systems do?
The initial focus of IH Systems is the development and commercialization of automation products for the hospital pharmacy. The first product under development is RIVA, the Robotic IV Automation system. Developed from research conducted by a team at the St Boniface Research Center in the mid 1990's, RIVA will be used by hospital pharmacies to automatically and accurately prepare IV syringes and IV bags. By automating the admixture preparation, RIVA will address the issues of safety for the patient and the pharmacy technician, efficiency and effectiveness in the pharmacy and the challenges of a changing regulatory environment.

Robotic IV Automation (RIVA) is a medical device developed by Intelligent Hospital Systems Inc. which will be used by hospital pharmacies to automatically and accurately prepare IV syringes and bags. By automating the preparation of IV syringes and bags, RIVA will address the issues of safety for the patient and the pharmacy technician, efficiency and effectiveness in the pharmacy and the challenges of a changing regulatory environment.
RIVA will allow hospital pharmacies to compound sterile preparations in a United States Pharmacopeia (USP) 797 environment while outputting admixtures in either syringes or bags. The automation of repetitive and complex tasks reduces the incidence of errors and contamination.
